Cementitious Mixers
Davis Cementitious Mixers are used for mixing both wet and dry cementitious products. We use our double-ribbon agitator when mixing dry material since the ribbons rotate faster and are more efficient with ingredients that are very free-flowing. We use our paddle agitator with wet cementitious products since this material is a heavy slurry with poor flow characteristics. Our paddles provide a lifting and folding mixing action.
Fast, uniform blending of cementitious materials—designed for powders, small granules, bentonite, and clays with paddle or ribbon agitation for precise control.
Key Benefits
- Consistent homogeneity: Engineered paddle and ribbon agitators ensure even dispersion of powders and fines.
- Low segregation: Gentle, controllable mixing prevents particle separation and maintains blend integrity.
- Short cycle times: Optimized geometry for fast throughput without overworking sensitive additives.
- Flexible configurations: Horizontal design with paddle or ribbon options to match material flow and shear requirements.
- Easy cleanout & maintenance: Sanitary finishes and accessible internals reduce downtime between batches.
Typical Materials Handled
- Cement (Portland, blended cements)
- Fly ash, slag (GGBFS)
- Silica fume, metakaolin
- Gypsum, lime, hydrated lime
- Bentonite, natural & processed clays
- Sand, fine aggregates, microsilica
- Acrylic, styrene–butadiene, and other polymer additives (dry)
- Chemical admixtures (dry powders), accelerators, retarders
- Perlite, vermiculite, expanded mineral fillers
- Pigments, colorants, dry fibers, glass microbeads
- Zeolites, aluminates, specialty powders
Recommended Mixer Types & When to Use
- Paddle agitators: Best for higher-shear blending, deagglomeration, and dispersing binders into dense powders.
- Ribbon agitators: Ideal for gentle, low-shear blending of free-flowing powders and fragile additives where minimal particle damage is required.
- Horizontal configuration: Promotes uniform flow, simple discharge, and scalable capacities for continuous or batch operations.
